"The 3D printing market is growing, but there is still a shortage of suitable metallic materials. With HiperAL, we have shown that we can meet this challenge with high-performance metals that drive the industry forward."
AM 4 AM, a supplier of high-performance metal powders for the booming 3D printing industry, has successfully raised €1.3 million in seed funding.
Led by Luxembourg Space Sector Development, EIT Raw Materials, and supported by the Ministry of Economy's Young Innovative Enterprise initiative, the investment will strengthen the company's production capabilities and extend its market reach.
The funding comes at a crucial time as AM 4 AM expands to meet the growing demand for advanced metallic materials in the 3D printing sector. The company plans to use the investment to improve its facilities, increase its production capacity and expand its product portfolio.
Founded in 2019, AM 4 AM has pioneered a unique cold plasma powder modification technology, making its flagship product, HiperAL, one of the strongest aluminium alloys on the market. This positions the company as a key player in solving the material limitations currently facing the 3D printing industry.
‘The 3D printing market is growing, but there is still a shortage of suitable metallic materials,’ noted Delmée. ‘With HiperAL, we have shown that we can meet this challenge with high-performance metals that drive the industry forward.’
Luxembourg's thriving business ecosystem has played a central role in AM 4 AM's success. Sven Baltes, Head of Start-up Relations at Luxinnovation, said: ‘Watching AM 4 AM develop from Luxembourg is inspiring. After participating in Fit 4 Start in 2022, they are now ready to expand internationally, with the support of the Young Innovative Enterprise programme.
With the support of the Luxembourg Space Sector Development Fund in this round, AM 4 AM's advanced materials are increasingly attractive for space applications, where high-performance powders are in high demand. The company's patented processes are in line with the Fund's mission to support Luxembourg's growing space ecosystem.
